Youth club seeks volunteers

20 April 2011

A successful youth club in Hellesdon is appealing to the local community to lend a hand to supervise the weekly club.

The ‘Big H’ youth club was launched by Hellesdon and Horsford Safer Neighbourhood Team to offer children and teens in the village diversionary activities in a safe environment.

Without more volunteers to help run the Friday night club, youngsters will have to be turned away with nowhere to go.

PCSO Chris Rolph said: ""We really need the help of the local community who are willing to spare a couple of hours and help with supervision, holding activities and trips".

The youth club runs from 7-9.30pm every Friday at in the sixth form common room at Hellesdon High School.

All potential volunteers would need to go through a CRB check which is paid for by the police.

If you know someone who could volunteer a couple of hours a week, please get them to contact PCSO Chris Rolph on 0845 456 4567.

It's great to be able to offer youngsters a place to meet up - let's hope it continues!
